I am planning on selling our home in Launceston and the buyers lawyers are claiming that there is a possibility that the property was built land that was not decontaminated. Any local lawyer would know this is not the case. For the life of me I don't know why the purchasers used an internet conveyancing outfit as opposed to a conveyancing solicitor in Launceston. We have lived in Launceston for 5 years we know of no issue. Is it a good idea to contact local Authority to obtain clarification that the buyers are looking for.

It is very possible that once the local authority has been informed of a potential issue it cannot be insured against (a bit like being diagnosed with a serious illness and then taking out life insurance to cover that same illness)
Despite weeks of looking the Title Certificate and documents to my property can not be found. The conveyancers who dealt with the conveyancing in Launceston 5 years ago no longer exist.What are my next steps?
